A group in Lymm raised more than £3,000 for charity last year and with the new year under way are looking for new members to join in the fun.
The Lymm Ladies Circle is a group of women who live in and around Lymm. As well as the fundraising, the group arranges socialising activities and weekends away. Last year, they held a first summer ball which raised more than £2,000 for the Warrington Food Bank and the Warrington Women’s Refuge.
The also collected money at Lymm Duck Race at Easter and Lymm’s Dickensian festival in December. Hannah Thorpe, from the group, said: “It’s a great way to meet people in the village, make friends and feel like you are giving something back to the community.
“We’re a friendly group of girls who want to have some fun, socialising, fundraising and much more.”
The group wants to raise even more money in 2014 and held a night for potential new members in the village.
As well as the charity side, social events included a weekend away in York, roller disco and a visit to the Warrington climbing wall, as well as several meals and drinks evenings in the village. l If you would like to join the group, then send an e-mail to email@example.com for information.
